I've been composing music for a long time, beginning with simple melodies and progressions I created for my piano private lessons. Since then, I have expanded both the scope and scale of my works. Now, I write not only for piano, but for symphony orchestra and concert band. In addition, some of my electronic pieces utilize synthesizers, heavily processed samples, and other noninstrumental sounds.
A majority of the music I listen to is instrumental. This is further divided into video game and film soundtracks, epicore trailer music, and similar genres. I also enjoy some Romantic-era and Classical pieces. Examples include Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" and Dvořák's 9th Symphony. Note on bias: I played both of these pieces in my 11th grade symphony orchestra. In addition, I do have a liking for some pop music; "Highlights from Wicked" was also something I played that same year. These choices have shaped my own style evident in my compositions to the point where some of my works even incorporate distinct characteristics and techniques from specific composers (shout out to David Chappell). Of course, this is bound to change with time—this information is accurate as of July of 2025.
Currently, I'm working on expanding my portfolio with a soundtrack album and a symphony. I'd like to fully release something to streaming platforms and music stores in the near future as well. In terms of learning new skills, I am looking to improve my mixing by working on a song with a friend. Oh, and I should probably get a MIDI controller. Shopping mode activated!
